PCB design tool with sheet connectivity feature

Hi ,

I am looking for a feature which i personally feel that it must be there in any PCB design tool.

Let me explain.Suppose any signal is going from one sheet to another sheet .Generally we use signal references to connect signals of different sheets.Is there any option or report where we can get the details that this signal is going from this sheet to that sheet.I am using Zuken Castar but unfortunately no option is available.
Is there any other PCB design tool that contains this feature?/

In Mentor Design Capture (Using the Expedition flow) it is called Cross Reference. In Mentor Design Architect, there is a tool called Road Mapper, and Mentor DX Desiger also has this feature, but I don't remember the name.

In cadstar you can tile the windows for all the sheets and when you do
FIND-->BY NET--> NET Name

than it gets highlighted in all the sheets.

thanks for the reply.

actually i was looking any report kind of thing which explains that signal is going from this sheet to that sheet.

problem is when any person is checking from PDFs of schematic,then he has to search a lot .One option may be he can use the viewer but this is not always possible and if sheet count is more then it is difficult to search in viewer/software.

You could always draw your schematics to use hierarchical blocks, putting block connectors on them with those signals attached.

That is after all how it is intended to do it within Cadstar.

NOT just using signal references.

Have a look at the self teach files. (Chapter 7.scm - Counter sheet)

As per your suggestion ,i recalled my knowledge about Hierarchical schematic diagram in Cadstar but ended with no answer..

Precisely ,i am looking a report.

Can we get that?

Have you tried the report generator in V10?
it appears to have some sheet display abilities.

Although what your after (if I read it right) is a list of ONLY nets that are on more than 1 sheet & which sheet they are on. (yes sounds handy).

will look into this further next week.
