satelite parazit

I am looking for a signal detector circuit. I want to see what frequencies are braodcasting and which spot has stronger or weaker signal intensity in order to install my sattelite dish in the strongest signal spot. Also some Parasite signals are broadcasting and I want to analyze them and find their frequency as well. Anyone knows where to find good schematics to build of such equipment to purchase?

:(

You can rent a satellite receiver spectrum analyzer. Several satellite equipment dealers have this service.

But moving around the satellite dish will not significantly change the signal levels from the satellites, as long as you have a free line of sight (clear sky).

Elaborating on the above post, your position of the dish can be made to shield it from the unwanted signals by having a building between it and them.

I think you can use even a standard Spectrum Analyzer which can see up to 15GHz. In this way using different spans you can visualize in the same time the level of more channels (and terrestrial interferers).
Anyway the Noise Floor is much better compare to a satellite receiver (you can play with RBW) and also probably easier to get one.
