Parallel Port / Serial port control thru matlab

Can ne body plzzz tell me how we can control parallel and serial port thru matlab. I hav a voice recognition code in matlab and i want to expand my project by switching the devices thru parallel and serial port.
So plzz help me out.

Hi Mukesh? I am also working an a project to control electrical devices through the parallel port using matlab voice recognition. Please let me know any introductory tutorials on voice recognition in Matlab and how to control the Parallel port.
