The pin numbering scheme for this follows the same rules as the serial connectors on my serial page. Listed below is the appropriate pinout configuration for a laplink parallel cable. (The same thing that I used.)
At this point in time (March- 98) I don't know a whole lot about parallel ports. I used a continuity tester with a parallel cable I have used in DCC. The results I got agreed although my cable seemed to have a very weak or no connection on pins 1, 14, 16, and 17.
