Parallel LEDs need ratification from the LED foundry?

Do you believe that if *power* LEDs are going to be paralleled, without current limitation in the LED strings, and without thermal coupling (mounting on MCPCB), then this can *only* be done if the LED foundry ratify it?

I went to a company yesterday, and they were throwing LEDs in parallel with no current limitation resistors, and limited thermal coupling between leds.
As the top article says...it is becoming they way to do it.
I seriously think that the LED foundrys need to come out on this subject, and put their cards on the table.
The following report tells us that Leds in parallel without limiting resistors and without thermal coupling is Russian Roulette.

I hope we can all spread the word, as engineers who don't want to play "Russian roulette" are now unfortunately seriously frowned upon as academic idiots...sorry to keep harping on, but its getting worse.
