Parabolic Motion Simple Caculation

Any parabolic motion can simply be divided into two motions
1. Vertical
2. Horizontal
A stone thrown woth 'a' radian angle (With respect to earth) and velocity 'v' m\s can simply be divided into two parts
1. Vertical motion = v Cos(a) m/s
2. Horizontal motion = v Sin(a) m/s

Any problem by this approach either height or distance covered
 

I don't exactly understand your real need.
As it is the conventional way(i.e. resolving the velocity into horizontal and vertical component) of finding all the parameters of projectile motion.I couldn't find anything new in this approach.

Yes totally agreed that is a simple approach. But I am unable to solve a problem:
Q : A missile fired from ground with angle x1 angle with velocity v m/s.
After some t1 sec. missile is splited into two parts with angle x2 and -x3 angle with respect to ground. Both should reach the same destination or target with same time.
I want a generlised equation with respect to distance from the starting point to target. Consider the distance is Y Metre.
 

Its feasible again.....split y metres into y1,distance travelled before splitting,and (y-y1).Let the height where splitting happens be H1......Now with H1 as a new height and V1 as a new velocity it can be solved stereotypically by furthur resolving V1 into horizontal and vertical components
