overload circuit

I need a Overload Circuit schematic for power SUPPLY. please anyone give me a precise schematic with description if possible.

wt do u mean by "overload ckt" ..do you want to provide the current limit to your circuit .

What is the maxium current you allow . if it's low you may use transistor cut off circuit for it
 

circuit for powersupply

I need a overload circuit for IPS (Integrated Power Supply). It will protect my IPS from discharging quickly for user over current.

My IPS will have a battery & inverter with a rectifier for 12V DC to 110V AC & then will use step-up x-former in the inverter x-former for 220V putput. I will design 300VA, 450VA, 600VA and some other ratings of IPS.

I just now need the overload circuit schematic to protect power supply from user over current.

So please if you can give me i'll be grateful. please try to indicate all the componets & value & some description if you can

Hi,
What i understand from your description of problem is that you need a protection from excess draw of curent by user.

If that is what you are looking, then you can just inmplement a resettable fuse,
a polyswitch a single component which should be placed in series to your circuit
and this will allow required current to flow and opens at excess current is drawn from it,
just google on tyco polyswitch, you may get some clue.

what happens if you overload a power supply

that's a good idea. but if anyone can give me circuit schematic that will be better.

my idea is when Overload is detected then my IPS will be off automaticaally.
