it is difficuilt for me to use layout (cadence tool) , but powerpcb is easy to use(mentor tool)

but to draw the schematic cadence is easy because i have hands on this.

IS THERE ANY TOOL TO UPDATE
cadence schematic NETLIST to powerpcb(mentor)
help!!!

free powerpcb

Hi
using the cadence schematic's tool "create netlist".
select "other" .
The nest step is select pads2k.dll or padspcb.dll.

see help for details.

powernet orcad

1) Switch Orcad Capture view to your project.
2) Choose Tool->Create Netlist
3) Choose Other->Formattors->choose 'padspcb.dll' and OK

Then, enjoy PowerPads.

powerpcb project

Yes all suggestions are good !

If you want export Part attributes,
search PowerNet, netlist formatter.
It's a .dll using Comdlg32.ocx file.

From PCB_Standards site, it's Free,
and work well with all Capture versions !

Let me know if you need help for
using "PowerNet".

Best, Skywalker.

power pcb schematic

Sorry i forget this,

the Best solution, using Or/cad Capt*ure with
PA*DS Power*PCB is PC*B Nav*igator !

Cross probing, back and forward annotation,
and others ...

Very good solution, Skywalker.

pads2k

thanx for the HELP

but the problem is that when i import the netlist in powerpcb there is error.

"UNSUPPORTED VERSION OF ASCII FILE"

i dont have the formatter for my newer vesion of powerpcb.

i am not able to find the dll file on pcbstandards site can u point out in detail, wether i have to register on that site to get the dll file.

please help!!

orcad  padspcb.dll

It can be as simple as editing the netlist and changing the 1st line to;

!PADS-POWERPCB-V4.0-BASIC! DESIGN DATABASE ASCII FILE 1.0

pads schematics & pcb translator v4.0 version

The 1st line, from Beepster are correc. But other 1st lines
are good.

I don't know if PCB Standards now require a registration.
You may try on PCB Libraries site, in Free Downloads option.

You can downloads, For Free this, let me know !

powerpcb dll orcad to pads

PADS2004(The Update Version of PowerPCB) has a tool converting OrCAD Schemtic to Powerlogic format.

powerpcb v4

bjxxh, are you sure ?

The conversion tool is:
From Cap*ture or From Power*Logic, To Pads *Designer (Dx*Designer).

Re: OrCAD Capture schematic to PADS PowerPCB Layout !!!

I was looking for the latest version of PowerNET and most links were dead or had an old version from 2002. One had a 2005 version.

Chuck kindly provided a link to the latest version: v2.1.0.1, 3/11/2009.
Go here for Chuck Tidwell's PowerNet:
docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B83dlkzdNDUjNzJkOWZlOTMtY2VkMS00NzY0LTgzZmUtYTM5ODE2YTcyNDVm&sort=name&layout=list&num=50

I've also attached his .zip.

The additional netlist formatters that are widely used for OrCAD to PADS are here:
padspwr4.dll
cpdserver.com/pcbstandards/PADS/OrCAD%20Netlister/padspwr4.dll
padspwr3.dll
cpdserver.com/pcbstandards/PADS/OrCAD%20Netlister/padspwr3.dll

The two netlist formatters for PADS provided with OrCAD are -
padspcb.dll (originally oriented to the 16-bit DOS version) and
pads2k.dll (originally oriented to the 32-bit DOS version).
Between these two, I recommend the pads2k.dll version.

For cross-probing between OrCAD and PADS, the only product I know of is PCBNavigator from Precience, if it is still available.

Rick Shaich has links to a BMP to asc utility here:
ashevillecommunity.org/hawker/pcb/pads/bmp2asc.exe
and a good netlist compare article:
ashevillecommunity.org/hawker/pcb/pads/Netlist%20compare%20in%20CAM350%20V8.pdf

Thanks to Chuck Tidwell, James Tidman, Rick Shaich, and Dave White.
