first let me tell u that Orcad is a boring software. U have to be patient to learn that.
Coming back to ur problem, i can say that before making a PCB layout u must make a 'Schematic Diagram' of ur circuit and that can be made in the "Layout" which automatically gets insalled during the Orcad installation.
In 'Layout' there is an option 'Components' on the left hand side of screen. In that u first have to add all the libraries which are copied during the installation but not yet installed.
After that its very simple. U simply type ur component name & the entire list comes. U just have to pick the required onr and drop on the screen, its schematic will appear.
You can also make a part in Caputre. Post of Bhavik has confused, whether you are asking about Orcad Capture or Layout. If you are working with Layout you have to make your own footprints by looking at the dimensions in the datasheet.
thanks, but I'm not that newbie, I've already designed my circuit "in Capture CIS", but missing the 7-segment. I searched for it using all keywords, but to no avail..
And do you know any software that is more professional and powerfull than OrCAD?
