This device is used for steering a small unmanned plane.
The project can be divided in two parts: the hardware and the software part.
The hardware part is almost finished, but the software is still being developed.
In the same time, the on-ground station is being developed – with a video receiver, maps etc.
Some information about this project:
the counting unit is based on one ARM LPC2148 on a prototype board made by the company Kamami
wireless communication is provided by the radio modem AC4868-250M made by the company Laird Technologies (250mW power)
possibility of steering 6 servos simultaneously
input allowing to connect a RC receiver and capturing PPM signal from 4 channels simultaneously
MMC card support
FRAM memory 16kB (Ramtron)
own power stabilizers:
5V – servos and sensors
3V – the MCU
3.3V – radio modem
internal navigation system based on Razor IMU 9DOF (Sparkfun) – acceleration, angular velocity and magnetic fields strength in 3 axes)
possibility to connect a GPS
static and dynamic pressure sensor (Freescale – MPX series)
ability to measure 6 analog channels (with hardware filtration)
digital inputs/outputs general purpose plus one analog output
communication with the user using LED, buttons, jumpers and RS232
