Hi All,

Just started using OrCAD PCB Editor and OrCAD Capture. I am learning as I go because my company will not pay for training or maintenance. My background is Pads-Layout and Pads-Logic, so they feel I should be able to pick up OrCAD with not much fuss. Not turning out to be the case, but anyway. A few questions.

1. I am working on a design that needs to have it's board outline changed. How do I accomplish this? The outline is created as a symbol with it's mounting holes, as OrCAD does it. We were able to DXF in the new outline, and create a closed shape out of it. Even move it to the Board Geometry>Outline layer. Does this make it an intelligent board outline or do you have to create a board outline as a symbol?

2. Will I have to create a new board outline mechanical symbol with new mounting holes and update the symbol?

3. I also have to add a new mounting hole. I can copy a mounting hole from the existing job but it comes up with a ref des of P*. The others are labeled P1-P6. How do I rename this mounting hole to P7?

Thanks in advance.
