I have installed OrCad 10.0 into my machine, I can draw the schematic well and has created netlist file, but when I want to make the PCB layout, I had clicked the 'Apply ECO' button, nothing comes out, the windows has nothing. What's wrong?

OrCad Layout

Check by importing in OrCAD Layout or OrCAD Layout Plus with default template.

Re: OrCad Layout

yes, it request two things, one is default template or it calls teaching template, other thing is we need to specify the directory where we saved the .MNL file, this is the netlist file we created in Orcad Capture. I had done both and had tried so many types of teaching templates, but the windows still has nothing. the circuit I drawn before didnt come out.

OrCad Layout

You can get the templates from OrCAD Layout directory. Use Default template. Templates are available for netllist files created by other schematic editor.

Check for Default.tch or _Default.Tch

Re: OrCad Layout

thanks, Sounder. I had tried your suggestion, but...Actually my friend also install the same with me, but I tried ther machine, no problem at all! I use the same knowledge and steps to do all this. Honestly, I had tried to uninstall and install over than 10 times, but the result still the same. my layout can only open or edit the .MAX files previously created by other machine, but can not create new layout...

Re: OrCad Layout

Have you tried to use your freinds copy of the software, maybe yours is corrupt?

Re: OrCad Layout

dear dear friends..

HER IS RONY NOW ..
SEE THE REAL PICTURE AND THE REAL ANSWER OF THE PROBLEM.. ITS AS FOLLOWS.

AFTER CREATING A DRAWING IN THE ORCAD ( CAPTURE.) DOUBLE CLICK EVERY COMNPONANT AND FILL THE FOOT PRINT REQUIRED FOR EACH AND EVERY COMPONATS. ( FOR THT SYMULTANIOUSLY OPEN THE "LAYOUT PLUS"TOO)
THEN CLOSE THAT DRAWING AND FROM THE "TOOLS" MANU SELECT NETLIST.
MAKE THE NETLIST FOR "LAYOUT".
THUS THE NETLIST MAKING IS FINISHED CORRECTLY. ( 1ST STEP IS OVER)

THEN OPEN THE "LAYOUT PLUS"AND CLICK THE SEQ. --> FILE--> NEW.
IT WILL ASK FOR THE TAMPLETE. AND OPEN --> DEFAULT TECH. ( IT WILL BE SELECTED AUTOMATICALLY.)
THEN IT WILL ASK FOR NETLIST FILE -->.MNL
SELECT THE SAME DIRECTORY AND SELECT THE SAME .MNL FILE U JUST CREATED. ( THE NETLIST FILE).
THEN OPEN IT. THIS MOMENT IT WILL START EACHOING FROM THE CAPTURE.
IF ANY FOOTPRINT IS MISSING , IT WILL STOP INBETWEEN AND ASK FOR IT.
ASSIGN ALL THE FOOT PRINTS CORECTLY AND AND ....U ARE READY TO PLAY WITH THE NET CONNECTED COMPONANTS IN THE LAYOUT PLUS.
ANY ONE CAN ASK ME THE PROCEDURE FROM NOW ONWARDS TOO... MY MAIL ID IS ..---> project8051@hotmail.com
thanks friewnds.. wish u luck.
