Hi,
I have downloaded and installed the "EMC engineer software" from the top of the following web page...
https://www.laplace.co.uk/software/

However, it wont run as it gives the following error message. (also attached)
"The code execution cannot proceed because usbi2cio.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem"
Do you know how i can solve this so that i can run the software?
Re-installing doesn't help

I suspect this is a USB to I2C driver for some specific hardware of theirs. It is probably a driver file provided with that hardware.

Brian.

Thanks, yes , that driver (usbi2cio.dll) is available on the same download page as linked in the top post, but when you try and install it, it says it could damage your computer system....so i refrained from installing it. Do you know if its safe?

The warning message is as attached.

I don't use Windows at all but I would make a guess you are trying to run the dll file when it is actually a library.
dll = "dynamically linked library"

You may have to register it rather than run it or maybe just copy it into whichever folder it should be.

Hi,

For sure you need to be sure the dll is from a reliable source.

But then there are descriptions in the internet how to install them manually.
It needs to be included in the registry ... for the progran to find the location (maybe other parameters)

dll files in the directory of the main application file are found without registering any path.

Thanks, i have placed the usbi2cio.dll file in the same file as the "EMC engineer" application, but it still gives the same error message.

All i actually need to do is use the EMC engineer application to open some .LPL files. (these are EMC scan plots)
