What is primary noise source of transmission line?

I want to simulate the noise model of transmission line.

So I want to know of the noise source of transmission line.

it is generally believed that the transmission medium doesnt introduce much noticable level of noise to the signal... it is a strange fact but true....

Unadapted transmission line generate some ripple. (source impedance != transmission line impedance != terminatind impedance)
Moreover, the material of the transmission line isn't perfect, and the dieletric is complex for high frequency, which introduce a phase variation dependant on the signal frequency (or harmonics).
you should look at the equation of the transmission line

last, but not least, if your transmission line is not from a single block (I mean one source, but several terminaison at different location, or some crossing of wall with connectors...) there could be impedance discontinuities which produce some echos...

All of this could be seen as noise.
