I have seen in some Reflow Ovens that there is a Nitrogen supply connection in addition to inside coils. I am wondering about the purpose of connecting Nitrogen. Normally we use liquid Nitrogen for cooling purpose but I don't know why it is there in Reflow Oven. Can anyone explain this please ? Thanks

Hi,

Hot solder tends to oxidize.
For oxidation it needs oxygen.
The nitrogen displaces oxigen, thus the oxidation is reduced.
All the area around the hot solder is flooded with nitrogen.
