Hi guys,
I wonder how is the packet (flit) drop in NOC is handled?
Are there NOC designs which guarantee no drops?
For designs which have drops, what is the common mechanism? (ACKs, re transmissions, stalls etc)

Thanks

No one will ever guarantee that a system will never drop a packet. ACK and retransmission are used in general. (think TCP...) ACKs (think I2C)

Thank you for the answer. So if TCP type ACKs are used, how can quality of service be guaranteed?
Can't we plan the route of a packet before it's being sent, guarantying its arrival?
