Dear Friends

I have installed 98SE three times and each time I start up I get the message that I must load .net framework 1.1....

Why do I need this/whats its purpose and how do I fix it?

Regards

Windows 98SE itself does not need .NET framework, but you might be attempting to run a program which was compiled using its shared libraries and therefore you need it installed.

Dear Sir
Thank you for your prompt reply.I found the installation files of .net framework but I can't seem to get it installed. How do I go about it?
Regards

The complete .NET framework SDK comes as a 100+ megabyte exe file 111,366,152 bytes its called setup.exe, simply run it.

If you got only the redistributable then its 24,265,736 bytes and called dotnetfx.exe, you simply have to run it.

It should install without a problem.

Dear Sir
I've got NETFXSBS10, V1.0.3705 and V1.1.4322 OF .NET FRAMEWORK.If I go to windows updates it scans my system, down load the .net framework but can't install it.Is there a program/virus that can block this installation?
I found the programs that also install .net frame work-My HP scanner/coppier.It also does not work.
Regards

Did you try not using Windows Update, and simply download it as an executable to your computer and then run it?

- Jayson

Your software may require some additional .NET updates, so try to install both .NET SDK & Runtime.
