Hi, everyone,

I noticed that there are only two metal layers in ADS Momentum, namely cond1 and cond2.

What if I need more different layers for my strip/slot? Anyone has an idea?

Thank you!

Go to the Layers Editor (Options -> Layers). There you can add/delete/rename any layers as you want.
(Note that you can also map any layers other than cond and cond2 as metal)

Thanks!

Just to make sure that Momentum will NOT calculate the maxwell equations according to the name of the layout layers, is that correct?

it will be simulated according to the stack-up you build in the Layout Editor, with your "sandwich of substrates, metallization, vias, thin-film resistive layer, ... refering to the layers YOU mapped.

Thank you, JB!

Another question. It seems in ADS Momentum that each strip/slot comes with a substrate. In my case, I'd like to insert something between my inductor (is it the same with "strip"?) and its substrate. I am thinking about using a dummy substrate on which I draw my inductor. Then I turn this dummy substrate into something like an extremely thin air. Do you think it's going to work?

Thank you!
