I am looking to program a 21 bit fractinal N frequency chip PE9763 manufactured by Peregrine semiconductors ,using a micro controller,
The chip has R,M,A and K registers to be programmed to generate an exact frequency locked to the reference source.

Kindly suggest me the simplest micro controller ,which can do this task.

The micro controller should receive a 16 bit command and must provide the required bits to
Program the synthesiser in response to the received command. Its a sort of reading a lookup table, the micro controller should provide serial program bits along with clock and enable signals.

On reset microcontroller should provide a default program bits to synthesiser to program to some predefined frequency.

Each address will store 21 program bits. There will be around 20 such addresses.

Hi,

Nothing special...about any microcontroller can do this.
But you need to say which interface is used to communicate with the synthesizer chip.

And yow need to decide how you communicate with the controller? Display keyboard, usb, bluetooth..

Hi Klaus,
I will be sending a command via a wireless or RF link,

The command will be received by a command decoder and send the frequency selection bits ,clock and enable signal toward the synthesizer IC.

Hi,

Only vage and incomplete informations.

Klaus

Almost any micro-controller with suitable number of IO pins and peripherals will be fine for your application.
