Hi,

I'm planning to make a Hybrid off grid application which uses Fuel cell and Solar cells.

I'm using a Fuel cell pack called Minipak 2W marketed which supplies about 5Volts 0.5Amps output
https://www.horizonfuelcell.in/portable_power_minipak.htm
Integrating this with a Solar Cell of almost same rating. So this will make it a hybrid system.

I just wanted to know if there are two sources, how they can be integrated. Can i use two sources having outputs 5V 0.5 Amps charge a 6 Volt battery by havin a boost converter in between. I've added a illustration of my proposed application.
Please do help me in the design.

Hi,

Your idea sounds interesting. You will however need something more than just a boost converter to charge a Lead Acid battery. Depending how it is intended to be operated it will need stand-by (or float) charging, constant voltage charging and possibly after the battery has been heavily discharged also constant current charging.
See the attached diagram for a typical charging cycle of a single lead acid cell.
