Does somebody know this device? I think it’s a step-down switching regulator.

Ok guys, I’ve got it. This is the marking of the chip:

MVAE
S29B

The chip is listed in the database of National Semiconductor as an LM3485 Hysteretic PFET Buck Controller (**broken link removed**).
