Need Suggestions about FYP

Hi

I am student of Electronic Engineering 6th semester and supposed to submit my FYP proposal in a two weeks.

A little about me
I have sound knowledge of PIC and other microcontrollers.
I have made two Line following robots.
and other small projects,

Now my plan is to MAKE (ROBOT + IMAGE PROCESSING)

what should I make?
1- automatic vehicle number plate recognition
2- Automatic Quality control of Injection Moulding Machine using Machine vision

Please give your valuable suggestions.

How many weeks do you have to complete the FYP?
Do you have any other classes in this period?

I have to submit Proposal in 2 weeks after that i have 6-8 months to complete my project. and yes i have classes as well.

7 months equal 1200 hours
Only 30% of the time will be available for the project = 400 hours (Other classes will consume the other time)
You will need 80 hours to compile your final report( draft, review, final report) ; that leaves you with 320 hours
You will need a weekly progress / consultation meeting with your supervisor) 30 x 1 = 30 hours ; that leaves you with 290 hours
You will do a literature review on what others may have done 20 hours ; that leaves you with 270 hours do do the work
Be realistic when you scope the project
I would limit the scope of the project to building a 10 number(single digit size 90 x 60 mm Arial font) optical regonition system, under good light condition, using a webcam and Matlab
As part of you proposal also include a project plan
