Need some hints/diagrams to build 5.1 channel sound system

5.1 channel

hi

i want to design and assemble myself a 5.1 channel sound system to attach with my PC , the commercially available system are a bit dearer and assembling myself out of the junk laying around in my workshop will be far economical, that i think so can u provide me some technical circuit diagrams , aucastical hints etc., ?
there is already a provision given in my pc to use 5.1 channel system, no further modification or addition will be required in the pc, only the external arrangements will be needed...

hi gsmsikar,

i finished a 5.1 "circle sorrund" s/m with a DSP ( NJM 26108 ) which is a dsp with CS decoding from stero i/p and a CS4228a codec ( and AKM codec).

so basically u need a decoder(DSP) and a codec and a micon to control these two with a Lcd( for user interface ) and a remote (optional , i interfaced one with RC5 decoding)

so get these ( which i dont think are avaliable in the stores!!) and design one.

i think you are wasting you'r time.

as i understand all you need is to by a DVD player for your PC which is very chip.

you say you have sound blaster with 5.1 support, so what else do you
need ?

i wanna ask what should i have in the speaker system for my 5.1 channel output given by my motherboard of my pc...
i want to have speaker sets made by myself...
