Hi,
There is a decoder schematic in www.epanorama.net Go to audio section->home theathre section.Or directly search "dolby decoder" in search section.I built it and it works with small amplifier. With big amplifier (>200 W) distortion is a big problem.
I built "M1" decoder too, it work more or less,
but them use ultra low quality and obsolete parts,
LM324 is actually worst amplifier in the world,
not suitable for audio at all, (you'll get 10 % TND).
So, main principle is right, - implementation is wrong.
Make your own redesign based on the same principles
and it will be much better.
The decoders on epanorama.net are analog dolby prologic decoders, not digital!
There was a prologic decoder in Elektor January 1995. I build this thing and it works very well!
The circuit is more complex than the one on epanorama.net.
Yea,
LM324 is no good for this job i changed them to another ic (sorry, i can't remember).I checked its page and it works well? I can not send datasheet because there is no datasheet only page. Please try to visit again.
i need to build a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital Decoder Amplifier to play DTS-CD or AC3 format files which are available in 5.1 channels ...
i have have a 5.1 Sound Card, and use Foobar2000, a free and powerful multi-purpose audio player but i dont have the amplifier speaker for this ,
so i want to make one ..
