voltage doubler circuit diagram

Hi anyone who reads this, I'm currently doing my final year project. I'm doing chemical engineering but somehow my thesis supervisor asked me to do power supply circuits.

Anyway, I need to make a voltage doubler circuit with 20V input to get an output of 400V. I'm not really good at this electrical thingy so anyone can help me with the diagram???

voltage doubler circuit

where is the 20V taken from?
what are the input and output currents?
Can you give the application?

voltage doubler schematics

here is I put an attachment of the circuit diagram I'm working on. I need 400V power supply for Hollow Cathode Lamp. At least that's what my supervisor asked me to find the circuit diagram.
