Hi everyone,

I have a Star Micronics DP822-12-A Print Mechanism, where the solenoids are being burnt out and the needles are in a stuck position. It is a very old printer head so I cannot find a replacement for it. I was thinking of the following two options:

1) If anyone knows any replacement Dot Matrix Printer Mechanism or a Printerhead where the print head is a 7 pin (14 connections for the print head), 7x5 pattern,57mm paper length and the paper roller/print head mover (8 connections in total). Operating voltage 12V, 480 HZ.

2)I was wondering if there would be a way to connect it to a dot matrix printer or connect it to a db25 cable so it can be read by the computer through the serial port. Or would it have to be passed to an A-D Convertor or Signal Processor to be able to output to such interface?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
