Dear friend,

I am a bit familiar with the PIC18 series controller. I am trying to use PIC32MX360F512L controller. When I am trying to programme the controller with the PRESTO programmer, device id 00000000000000 error is displayed. I have powered the controller according to the specification.

I need suggestion from you.

Hope to see a response from you.

Regards.

Adnan

usually device ID 0 indicates the programmer is not connecting to the device correctly

do you have the PIC32 circuit?

what version of MPLAB and compiler are you using?

it may be worth getting onto PRESTO support?

Thank you for your prompt reply ...
Yes I have the PIC32 circuit which I designed and I will upload the schematic within a week as I am in outside my city.
I am using MPLAB IDE v8.30 with C32 compiler from Microchip.
How I can get support from PRESTO???

may be worth upgrading to the latest MPLAB (I think it is V8.89) or even MPLABX (you may not have a driver for it though)

if you onto the ASIX site there is a link to support
http://tools.asix.net/prg_presto.htm

I always find that it is worth looking a Microchip's user guides for their kits as the guides usually have schematics of the circuit, e.g. PIC32 Start Kit user guide

The schematic looks O.K. Are you reasing recent UP software version for the PRESTO programmer?

as FvM says schematic looks OK
have you an oscilloscope to look at MCLR, SDA and SCA to check the signals look correct

Thank you FVM and horace1. I am using UP 2.54 version of software. And I will check the status of MCLR, SDA and SCA pins.

According to UP release notes, the chip should be supported since V2.38. So there's probably a different problem. Updating to the newest programming software won't hurt, however.
