need help in orcad layout design

hello friends........

well i am new in the field of pcb designing so can any body out here plz tell me how to make a pcb layout in orcad 10.0 .

take the example of simple regulated power supply, having 4 diodes(i.e. bridge rect.), a transformer, two cap. , one regulated ic (e.g.7809) etc.

step by step process is much appreciated.....

and also is thr any software for free or wht ever ,whc can be used for the pcb layout designing .

The reason your request didn't generate a quick response is because it is so general. It's like asking to describe the universe in 10 words or less.

You need to do some reading and research on your own. Then you can ask specific questions to fine tune your skills.

Dear Friend,

The proper steps to design a PCB in Orcad is

1. Prepare a Schematic in orcad capture
2. Fill in the package used for each part with the package available in the library of the orcad Layout
3. Prepare the Netlist in Orcad Format
4. Load this netlist in Orcad Layout, you should get all teh parts on the screen, may be all cluttered.

5.Deside the pcb area and place each component. the connections will be shown by the software.
