Hi all,
I just got the IBM .18u CMOS RF PDK from MOSIS. I'm trying to install it to our system. Even though I installed 2 diffrent PDKs in the past, I couldn't succeed to set this one properly. The IBM(CMOSRF7SF) comes with an installation perl script I run that one and answered whatever it asked. Then it installed the PDK namely put the files where was pointed. I edited the cds.lib file according to my file structure.

I went back to my account, created a project directory, copied cds.lib, display.drf and .cdsinit files in it, run icfb. I could see the pdk model library (cmrf7sf) and esd library (esd7rf).

I created a library, attached to ibm model lib (CMRF7SF) then created a cell view, dropped couple transistors, open the analog design environment to simulate them. BUT HERE IS THE PROBLEM;
When I click Setup/Model Libraries ... None of model files overthere. It is supposed to load spectre model files and their proper sections.
I though that I did something wrong or missed a step when setting the PDK. But I couldn't figure out.

Please help!
thnks in adv.

.

I'm not sure if i answer ur question or not:

1. click setup / Model lib
2. browse the lib
3. goto /model/spectre
4. choose "design" click "Add"
5. repeate step 2 and 3 , this time choose "process" , clci "Add"

Now your model library should be added.

hope i have answered ur question

smart, thanks for your kind reply.
This is an alternative solution but I think the most painful one.
To solve this problem by pointing model files with browsing it, I also need to find the names of sections and add there. Otherwise the simulator doesn't know where to look for the models of devices which I used in the circuit, on model file and the simulation fails. Furthermore, even if I have the sections list, I need to add all section names from beginning to simulate every circuits that I designed.
For the PDKs that I used so far, the simulator was automatically loading the model files with section names such as tt, tt_3v, dio, tt_res, tt_mim.
I don't know what kind of settings I should do to make the simulator do what it is supposed to. Please more help!

cmrf7sf cmos rf

it define the model range: ss tt ff sf fs and so on.
you can run the corner for your design to view the design margin.

Hi eng

how can you get this kit?
can you share it with me?
thanks!

you need to modify your .cdsinit file. I posted the solution yesterday. I'm using IBM right now.
