Let's say if somebody connect the A & B wrongly for RS485 interface, i.e. A becomes B and B becomes A. What's going to happen? What will the output signal be due to this wrong connection?
Connecting A to B and B to A will not cause any damage ..
However, signals will be reversed in phase - "0" becomes "1" and vice versa - so, receivers will not read wrongly connected transmitter and wrongly connected receiver will not read the other transmitters ..
I see. Last time I'm afraid that connecting A & B wrongly may cause damage to the IC. Connecting A & B wrongly will make the signal get inverted. Is it possible to use some automatic mechanism to inverse the signals back automatically if wrong signals detected due to wrong connections of A & B then?
I tried to use logic gates to invert the signals in the case that A & B are connected wrongly. The signal inversion done by the logic gates manage to make the devices resume communications. Anyway, what will be the signal level of A & B in case that A & B are connected wrongly when all transmitters and receivers are in tri-state?
