I am an undergraduate student interested in Embedded Systems. There is a course on LabVIEW offered in my university titled LabVIEW for Engineers;its contents are

Topics Covered:

LabVIEW Basics

oIntroduction to Model Based Design
oExploring LabVIEW Environment
oCreating, Editing And Debugging Models
oModular Programming
oDesigning Front Panels Using Loops, Structures, Arrays, Clusters, Graphs & Charts
oData Management Techniques
oCommunication & Network Modules

Advanced LabVIEW

oNI Hardware Introduction - CDAQ & CRIO
oCRIO FPGA Training – Introduction to FPGA
oReal Time Concepts
oFPGA – RT Communication o Advanced FPGA Features
oDigital Signal Processing
oDigital Image Processing
oCAN implementation
oSensor Interfacing
oWireless Communication Interfacing (WiFi, BlueTooth, GPS, GSM & GPRS)

Is this course worth doing for an aspiring Embedded Engineer? Does LabVIEW requires us to use only NI Hardware like the DAQ card or can we use any Microcontroller such as PIC or ARM?

So you are suggesting that I should focus my time and concentration on MATLAB rather than LabVIEW?
