Make sure there is as little acoustical feedback as possible between speaker and microphone.My previous cell phone was awful.It repeated what the other end said very loudly and annoyingly.
Suppose the front cover is responsible for this effect,so the material is crucial.Bu this is easy to measure provided you have samples of various materials.
