Here are handy calculator websites: https://www.diyaudioandvideo.com/Calculator/XOver/ For an 8 ohm woofer and 400 Hz, they state 3.18 milliHenries. The coil need not have a metal core. Winding wire a few dozen times around your hand is a typical method. You'll need another calculator to figure out what diameter, how many turns, etc.
