I need to have a 6V/1A SMPS with voltage variation of mains rom 100V to 240V.

Plz suggest for design or where can i find help.

Is their any IC available for this purpose

Re: smps

hi,
use topswitch for design.because it has its own software to design circuit.

Hi
TOP SWITCH having PIEXPERT suite software in which they give all the details like device selection transformer design with selection of core of transformer. They have various design examples with engineering report in that they had give all the details.
any newcomer can design Basic configuration of SMPS using that notes

Re: smps

topswict will be better.. u will get lot of information for power integrations...
moreover pi software also u will get, which help u to design the power supply...

Re: smps

You can use the philips PWM control ics which are very cheap but stable.

Re: smps

U can design by your self, with Op-Amp as comparator (LM 311) and LM 555 as sawtooth generator and MOSFET as switcher(SSH 11N90). The circuit need a inductor and capacitor as filter. The design can find in book anything which discuss SMPS.

Re: smps

I am currently designing a SMPS based on microcontroller. It will regulate without using any sawtooth generator.

Re: smps

IF YOU WANT AN EASY FAST AND CHEAP SOLUTION
YOU CAN GET A PC POWER SUPPLY AND MODIFY ITS FEEDBACK DIVIDER
TO PRODUCE 6 VOLT FROM THE 5 VOLT OUTPUT

IF YOU SEARCH ON NET YOU WILL FIND SOME IDEAS AND IMPLEMENTATION FOR THIS

Re: smps

Top switch require proper layout design otherwise no worth to use this expensive IC.

Re: smps

can u share ur circuit and program
