For an N variable Karnaugh map, if there are four 1's such that they can be grouped together, the function will have how many variables in terms of N?

N-2 must be the answer I guess

I am not sure of this:

For EG:4-Variable K-map will give output=1 if there were 4 ones right.

How come N-2??
