Presented device has the following functions:
  • clock
  • alarm
  • inside and outside temperature measurement
  • control the shutter
  • control the etching tank

The device is controlled using RC5 remote control. Control the shutter is implemented on 1,2A stepper motor controlled by transistors IRF530. A simple twilight sensor based on photoresistor is connected to the system. It causes the shutter lowers automatically and it is possible to set the shutter raises at dawn. Alarm clock is raising the shutter at a specified time. In addition, you can also raise and lower the shutters by remote control. Lowering the shutter is achieved temporarily, what means that the engine turns off after 15 seconds, while during raising the shutter, the engine turns off when the shutter gets to the end and activates the limit switch.

Control of the etching tank is done with relays. The etching tank has two 100W heaters, aerator and temperature sensor 18B20. Heaters automatically switch off when the temperature exceeds 45 degrees Celsius, and the aerator is switched on and off using the remote control. Aquarium is made of plexiglass. The whole is combined with ATX connector, so the etching tank can be stored elsewhere.
