hello guys. i got problem how to interface the msp430 with the gsm862? can i just connect the rxd,txd and gnd..?

Assuming that your gsm module is a 5v device you need a level translator between the MSP430 and the module.
The MSP430 is not 5v tolerant device.

thanks alex. but i believed the gsm 862 got that done already since im using gsm862 with the evaluation. so what's next?

I don't understand, I thought your question was about the interface of the two devices, are you asking for the code implementation?

Alex

sorry. so i just connect the txd and rxd and gnd of both board?. and test it with some codes? say yes if im on the right track.

The transmit (Txd) and receive (Rxd) have to be crossed as in any RS232 connection

After that it is a matter of sending the correct commands.
