How to select solar penal for 12v/40Ah battery??
I want 17 vmp from panel

Hi,

battery is just a buffer.

From the power/energy side the panel depends on
* sunlight conditions and on
* load energy consumption
and not on battery size.

as per work given to me for now i have to make only charge controller,load is not decided yet
i have to use 12v/40Ah battery that for fix
so how to select the panel wattage range as i want 21VOC of panel

Hi,

Let me explain it in other words.

Imagine the battery´s capacity/charge as a distance.
And let´s imagine that solar panel current (or wattage) is speed.

Then your question is: My grandmother lives 100 miles away. How fast do I have to drive?

It all depends on the load.

From the battery used, it appears that your load is expected to be around 100W (when the solar panel is off, the battery must take care of the load) and you need solar panel of around 150W capacity.

This is just a rough idea; you need to calculate more accurately.
