Hi,

There are lots of schematics for that kind of circuit on the internet, some use microphones and speakers, others just use speakers for listening and speaking.

I do not know if this one in the link is any good or not, I would assume that if it is/was sold as a kit then it must function correctly. It provides a list of all the parts needed, and it looks simple to put together on through-hole board:

And here's the datasheet for the LM386, you can find the pin numbers and read other information about the IC in it (recommended):
