Hello sir
I want to connect a zener at the output of a rectified power supply
1) with simple rectifier & a capacitor
2) with a rectifier , a capacitor & voltage regulation ic (say 7805 7812 etc)

hoow to choose diffrent values for diffrent power supplies for diffrent configurations like centre tap transformer etc etc . .please explain

Dear rajaram
Hi
What do you want to do exactly ? your words confusing me ! and about connecting a zener diode across a PSU , don't forget to use a proper resistor in series .
Best Wishes
Goldsmith

no i mean my power supply is ready with capacitor & one with regulated ics but no zener i ve in that design
as i read & listened about the zener connections so want to know its so simple

Ho much current do you need ? and how much are the out puts of your supplies ?

i need for diffrent power supplies like 5v,6v,9v,12v , im using 250 mA & the current value dsn't matter here for me i just want to connect with current parameters full i mean with as it is 250 mA in my practicals & in final art i ll use the same other one so ll apply the same configuration described by you . . so please help

I guess you need to have a variable PSU as a work bench supply ? ( for in home ) right ?

for home is okk but what is bench supply & all that please explain with proper diagrams thanks

Bench supply ? ha ha ! it means a supply that you will have in your desk ! a variable PSU . it is simple ! did you heard about LM317 or LM2576 voltage regulators ? these are variable voltage regulators which are good for you .

ohh hehe ya ya ya i ve listned but don't know proper use with the details please explain with basic of it

Humm ! did you see the datasheet of LM2576 or LM317 ? ( LM2576 will be better ) . you will see some suggestions on datasheets of them . ( perfect circuits to do ! )
