i am searching for the four digit seven segment display with the minimum cost.and there is one more specification is here that seven segment display should be compatible with the msp4302112 controller.

all 7seg displays r LEDs and thy hv noting to b compatible but as thy draw huge current so b careful while using them with any cmos or ttl ic
moreover u can search google for ur requirements as well as nearest electronics market for ur required stuff

I have never heard of any compatibility issues with seven segments. Basically they are strips of led connected together.

there is no word like compatibility in led displays... u can use with any Mc

o man compatibility regarding 7 segment.man just it has two options common anode and common cathode.Thats it.nothing more.and just refer Datasheet for voltage requirements.its 5v with current limiting resistors.

There are essentially two options:

1. Common Cathode (which a logic 0 turns on)
2. Common Anode (which a logic 1 turns on)

Common Cathode is usually the best choice for microcontroller designs which you have to turn on multiple LEDs simultaneously because the processor doesn't have to source current, it can simply sink it. You just have to make sure you set your current limit resistors to a value that is high enough to protect the MCU but low enough to make the LEDs visible when lit.

The LED will be plenty bright with around 3mA of current. Assuming a 2.0V diode drop across the LED and a 5V supply, you can start with 3V/3mA = 1k resistors and play with the values to get the right brightness.
