hi,

am planing to develop a 5x7 dual color matrix led display. am using a single module and am used this for a status indication not for scrolling. my requirements are,
condition 1: all green led on
condition 2: all red led on
condition 3: all red and green led on simultaneously. ie yellow color.
i am using a 4017 counter but this is not give much current, so darling-ton pair transistor array as driver. but i want the darling-ton pair driver ic output is +12v, all available ic is giving GND as out.

anybody know that type of ic. i mean non-inverted driver ic for led.

thanks in advance.

Re: 5X7 dual color LED matrix single module

You forgot to tell us how much current you need for the LEDs. The Texas Instruments datasheet for the CD4017 shows that it can typically supply an output current of 15mA into a 2V red LED with a 9V or more supply if you limit the power dissipation of each output transistor to below 100mW.
Darlington drivers are inverting and have outputs that go to near ground because that is what everybody wants and NPN darlingtons are used.
