Is it hard to move from GaAs Power Amplifier / Front End Module Design to RF IC Design in Silicon (CMOS, SiGe) if you have the right course work (RFIC Design, CMOS Analog Design).

Any tips or suggestions?

Many friends of mine want to make this transition.

I believe not too much different

not much diificult
mant s/w are available e.g. cadence
but here there will be constraint on frequency and power

by the way which design has more demand from industry?

it is not very easy.
for GaAs process is loweset noise and highest frequency.
for GeSi process, the lower nosie and higher frequency.
for CMOS process, noise and frequency is not good.
and the cmos driverability is not good, too.
So need more carefuly simulation when moving
