hi . i am meysam .
i have old motor dc 35 ampper . compound .
on the plac motor write : 30 volt dc ( min speed ) and 270 volt dc ( max speed )
i buy autonics spc1-50 and control speed to potantiometer ( 1 k-ohm)
but autonics is max 220 volt - and my speed motor very low speed .
i dont know ? i need maximum speed and ...
i need to make a dimmer ? one dimmer to 270 volt and 35 ampper
please help me .

Hi Meysam

With 1kOhm resistor you will have very low current, leading to very low speed of you DC motor.

You should look for a component that allows lower resistor values

It's not clear how you connected the motor. spc1-50 is an AC controller using full wave or phase angle control, did you connect a rectifier? It should be also easy to determine if spc1-50 gives full (220V AC) output voltage.
 
today - I test 100 ohm potentiometer . but was immediately after start - speed up .
but i dont had a lot of change speed . The low speed .
i send Specifications motor .

i think need a dimmer . on the place motor write : 270 v - 20.6 A -2900 rpm and 33 volt - 20.6 A - 100 rpm -
but i have 2 circuit : one shunt and else series winding . i connected 220 volt -dc fixed to shunt and variable voltage (autonics- bridgdiod ) to series winding . but when displace these two short circuit and fuse ... .
maximum voltage autonics is 220 volt . on the place writing 270 volt .
may be i need dimmer to 270 volt ?
 

Unfortunately the line with the excitation winding specification can't be read well on the type plate photo. It looks to me like 320V, but I'm not sure about. If so, 220V DC would at least work.

The bridge rectifier circuit is basically fine. An inductor won't be necessarily needed, but is helpful to reduce peak currents. It would be preferably placed on the DC side, but the difference only matters with sufficient inductance. What kind of inductor did you connect?

A large inductance on the AC side is surely unwanted.
