Hi All,

I am planning to drive my DC Inductive load using mosfet, load voltage 24 load current is 500ma Max.
While driving the load my mosfet is getting heat. Why it is getting so much heat. My schematic is given below for reference. Please tell me why my mosfet is getting heat and how can I avoid that?

It is a p-channel mosfet. How it can works? Why the ground in top? Is it your first schematic?

Hi,

I am planning to drive the load at low side using P channel mosfet, that's why ground is in top.

Then the load should be connected after transistor, not before.
Top - I mean that schematics looks incorrect.

Well, it wouldn't suprise me if your mosfet is not to happy with 24 Volt on its gate.
This mosfet has it specified at 20 Volt.
