This 2x100W 8R amplifier can operate at only 8ohms because of limited power of 450W converter, built on ends on IRFP250 transistors.

The converter is built on corde from ATX EI-40 Bmax 180mT. 450W is the maximum power. It operates on 30kHz. IRF840 transistors were used. Stabilized voltage at the output +/-40V, maximum voltage +/-65V. Fan is controlled by a thermistor and mosfet. Cooling had to be mounted because at powers over 400W the transformer heats up.

Digital preamplifier Atmega16 TDA7313 has a selector of two inputs and two stereo outputs.

Functions available:
  • MUTE
  • Loudness
  • bass
  • treble
  • volume
  • on
  • off

Control is via a TV remote control RC5, volume is controlled by a knob.

Housing is an old housing from Kenwood ka880 amplifier.

Elements used:
  • ends
  • converter
  • preamplifier
  • housing
