Monitoring a RS232 based appli by ethernet

Hello mates,

I've just found a link which provides a server which allow the user to drive a board (by RS232) by with a telnet application... (I'm not sure to be clear enough)... but just have a look at the link bellow

My question is : is there any other application (means more recent) that is able to do the same work ?

FYI I've done such a soft a can provide it to anyone who wants to use it (free and source provide)
I've used Lab Windows CVI....
