Modelsim 5.8b on linux problem.

bad pointer access... closing vish

I installed modelsim5.8b on Fedora Core 1. But when I run the "vsim". I got this error message. Why?


Reading /opt/modeltech/tcl/vsim/pref.tcl
Bad pointer access... Closing vish.
Font Courier -12 still in cache.
Font -*-*-*-*-*-*-6-*-*-*-*-*-*-* still in cache.
TkFontPkgFree: all fonts should have been freed already

modelsim linux tcl library linux

I have the same problem on Mandrake 10.1. Did you find a solution? I think it's due to the newer glibc libraries and I'm afraid we have no choice but switch to other Linux OS (CentOS for example - it's the free version (rebuild) of RH Enterprise, and ModelSim is built on RHEL .. it should work.
