Minimum Voltage of OUTx terminal when regulating current?

Hello,

With the NCV7680, it regulates LED current linearly. From the datasheet I cannot tell what would be the minimum voltage possible at any OUTx pin?

Also, the datasheet seems to say that a voltage of >100mV on any OUTx pin means an open LED string.....how can this be?....sometimes the OUTx pin voltage will need to be >100mV in order to corrently regulate the LED current?

Also, sometimes the NCV7680 gets used with an external FET so as to regulate the rail voltage.......some more complex controllers do this but incorporate "voltage headroom management" whereby the actual rail voltage is regulated such that the linear regulators dissipate minimum power possible and yet still keeping the led current in regulation. Do you know of any Automotive ICs which do this?
