This small sound system for a computer, which consists of amplifier and two speakers. The assumptions of this project were that the amplifier was small and look like Samsung – black housing made of plexiglass with transparent edges.

The amplifier was based on two TDA2030A and it is equipped with volume, bass and treble adjustment. It is powered from an external 24V AC power supply. In addition, there is RGB diodes backlight. Those diodes indicate the time when the device is on. The color can be set by three slide switches on the back wall of the housing. PCBs were designed in TraxMaker and made in thermal transfer method. In addition, they are covered with a layer of rosin dissolved in alcohol. Speakers can be removed from any device like old TV set.

Resistance wire powered from a rectifier was used for bending the plexiglass. The plates were cut with a hand saw for metal. Holes for the speakers were cut with a jigsaw. All holes were drilled with drills for metal at low speed to prevent melting and formation of bubbles. The whole device was painted from the inside with black spray.

Elements used:
  • TDA2030A x2
  • heat sink
  • passive components and sockets
  • knobs and switch
  • stereo potentiometer x3
